Timer not syncing

If your timer isn't syncing between your view and your client's view, here are some troubleshooting steps.

Check Your Connection

Look for the connection indicator in the top corner of the timer. It should show a green dot when connected.

  • Green dot: Connected and syncing
  • Yellow dot: Reconnecting...
  • Red dot: Offline - check your internet

Common Causes

1. Poor Internet Connection

SessionTimer requires a stable internet connection for real-time sync. Try:

  • Refreshing the page
  • Checking your WiFi or cellular connection
  • Moving closer to your router

2. Browser Tab in Background

Some browsers throttle background tabs. Keep the SessionTimer tab visible or use fullscreen mode.

3. Client Using Old Link

Make sure your client is using the current session's link, not a link from a previous session.

Quick Fixes

  1. Have both parties refresh their browsers
  2. Check that you're both on the same session code
  3. Try a different browser (Chrome recommended)
  4. Disable browser extensions that might block connections

The Timer Continues Locally

Even if sync is interrupted, the timer continues running accurately on each device. When connection is restored, they'll automatically resynchronize.
