Creating your first session
Getting started with SessionTimer is quick and easy. Follow these steps to create and start your first timed session.
Step 1: Go to your Dashboard
After logging in, you'll land on your dashboard. This is your home base for managing all your sessions.
Step 2: Click "New Session"
Click the "New Session" button in the top right corner, or use the quick start section on your dashboard.
Step 3: Choose a Template
Select from one of the default templates:
- 50-Minute Standard - Most common for therapy sessions
- 45-Minute Brief - For shorter sessions
- 90-Minute Intake - For initial consultations
Or create a custom duration by selecting "Custom" and entering your preferred time.
Step 4: Start the Timer
Once your session is created, click the "Start" button to begin the countdown. The timer will display prominently on your screen.
Step 5: Share with Your Client (Optional)
Click the "Share" button to get a link you can send to your client. They'll see the same countdown timer without needing to create an account.
