Sharing with your clients

One of SessionTimer's key features is the ability to share a live timer view with your clients. They see the same countdown you do, creating shared awareness of session time.

How to Share

  1. Start or open a session
  2. Click the "Share" button in the header
  3. Copy the link or show the QR code
  4. Send to your client via your preferred method

What Clients See

When clients open the link, they see:

  • The countdown timer in large, easy-to-read numbers
  • Color changes matching your view
  • Session status (waiting, running, completed)

Clients do NOT see: Your name (unless you enable it), session controls, or any other account information.

Sharing Methods

Copy Link

Click "Copy Link" to copy the session URL to your clipboard. Paste it into an email, text message, or your video call chat.

QR Code

For in-person sessions, show the QR code on your screen. Clients can scan it with their phone camera to open the timer.

Best Practices

  • Share the link before the session starts so clients can get settled
  • For telehealth, paste the link in your video platform's chat
  • For in-person, display on a tablet positioned where clients can see it
Privacy Note: Each session has a unique, randomly generated code. Links cannot be guessed and expire when the session is marked complete.
